Borrowed from this article:
Researchers report that drinking coffee cuts the risk of cirrhosis of the liver from alcohol -- by 22 percent per cup each day -- but they stopped short of saying doctors should prescribe coffee for that reason.
The report from the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Oakland, California, was based on a look at data from 125,580 people.
"These data support the hypothesis that there is an ingredient in coffee that protects against cirrhosis, especially alcoholic cirrhosis," concluded the report published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
Incredible, considering I drink about 5 cups a day. This means that I can continue to drink exorbitantly while reversing the potentially detrimental effects it will have on my liver.
The only part of the article I disagree with:
"Even if coffee is protective, the primary approach to reduction of alcoholic cirrhosis is avoidance or cessation of heavy alcohol drinking," the researchers said.
Idiots.

better drink some coffee...
Last night:
I'm on my way up my stairs to change and go running. I get a phone call.
I don't change, but do run. To the Terrace, where I proceed to drink irresponsibly.
Now, with this coffee in my hand, I feel not a pang of regret.
Now if they could only find a way to reverse the non-physical damage caused by drinking heavily... extreme ego blows, things you really shouldn't have told your boss, etc.
But then I guess that would take away the fun.
This just shows the world how important Irish coffee really is.
So I should expect the same results from products such as Jolt cola and caffeinated soap.
No?
I'm going to try anyways.
duuuuude LIVERAIDE!!!
